Current Weather Conditions on 17th July 2017
Monsoon Status mostly based on IMD Inferences:
The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of West Rajasthan, remaining parts of East Rajasthan and
some more parts of Haryana. The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat.28.0°N / Long. 72.0°E, Bikaner, Churu,
Hissar, Patiala, Kapurthala and Lat.31.5°N / Long. 74.5°E.
The Low Pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal & neighborhood has strengthened to a Well Marked Low Pressure over Northwest/Westcentral Bay of Bengal near Odisha Coast. The associated Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level. The System is expected to strengthen further in 24/36 hours.
The trough extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level and runs from Rajasthan to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal across North Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Center of Well Marked Low over NW/WC Bay of Bengal.
The remnant of the Low is a UAC at 700 hPa (3.1 km above mean sea level) over Northeast Arabian Sea close to Saurashtra/Kutch/Sindh coast. Trough at 3.1 km above mean sea level ( East West Shear zone ) and runs from this UAC to Eastcentral Bay of Bengal across Saurashtra, Central Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhhatishgarh, Odisha & WMLP area over NW/WC Bay of Bengal.
The off-shore trough at mean sea level extends from South Gujarat coast to North Kerala coast.
Weather Forecast: 17th July to 21st July 2017
Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch:
The earlier forecast ends today the 17th July. Districts of Bhavnagar, Amreli, Junagadh & Botad, part of Southern Rajkot District, had received less rain. However, today most of these areas have experienced good rainfall with a few exceptions.
From tomorrow the 18th July scattered light/medium rainfall with some isolated heavy rainfall to continue till 21st July.
Update will be given mostly on 19th about the track of the new Bay of Bengal System.
