Depression Over Southeast Bay of Bengal – Pre-Cyclone Watch For North Tamilnadu, Puducherry and South Andhra Pradesh Coasts

Brief Note about the System:
The Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 22 kmph during past 06 hours and lay centred at 2330 hours IST of yesterday, the 06 th December, 2022 over southeast Bay of Bengal, near latitude 8.4°N and longitude 87.0°E, about 640 km east of Trincomalee (Sri Lanka), about 780 km east-southeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka),  about 840 km eastsoutheast of Karaikal and about 900 km southeast of Chennai.

It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify further gradually into a Cyclonic Storm around 07th December evening and reach Southwest Bay of Bengal off north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts by 08th December morning. It will continue to move west-northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry & adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during subsequent 48 hours.

Saurashtra Gujarat & Kutch : 

The Normal Minimum Temperature is about 14 C to 16 C.
This morning the Minimum Temperature at various locations was as under:

Ahmedabad 17.5 C about 2 C above normal
Bhuj 13.2 C
Vadodara 17.6 C about 2 C above normal
Rajkot 14.2 C about 1 C below normal
Amreli 14.8 C also about 1 C above normal

Forecast 7th to 14th December 2022

The Minimum Temperature will be near normal till 11th December and then expected to increase to normal/above normal till 14th December. Winds from Northeast and sometimes East Northeast.

ન્યુનતામ તાપમાન નોર્મલ નજીક રહેશે તારીખ 11 ડિસેમ્બર સુધી અને ત્યાર બાદ 14 સુધી નોર્મલ/નોર્મલ થી વધુ રહેશે. પવન નોર્થઇસ્ટ અને ક્યારેક ઇસ્ટ નોર્થઇસ્ટ તરફ થી રહેશે.

The Depression over the South East Bay of Bengal is expected to affect most of South India and adjoining Maharashtra. Subsequently there is a possibility of the System to reemerge over Arabian Sea and affect Maharashtra with a possibility of affecting the adjoining areas of Gujarat/Saurashtra during the end period of the forecast.

દક્ષિણ પૂર્વ બંગાળ ની ખાડી પર ડિપ્રેસન થયું છે જે હાલ પશ્ચિમ ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ તરફ ગતિ કરે છે અને આવતા 24 કલાક માં મજબૂત બનશે અને તારીખ 9/10 ડિસેમ્બર સુધી નોર્થ તામિલનાડુ, પુડુચેરી દક્ષિણ આંધ્ર કોસ્ટ તરફ ગતિ કરશે. આ સિસ્ટમ થી દક્ષિણ ભારત ના બધા રાજ્યો માં વરસાદ થશે. ત્યાર બાદ સિસ્ટમ આગળ વધતા અરબી સમુદ્ર બાજુ સરકે તેવી શક્યતા છે. મહારાષ્ટ્ર ને પણ અસર કરશે અને તેને લાગુ સૌરાષ્ટ્ર/ગુજરાત ને અસર કરવા ની શક્યતા છે. હાલ સિસ્ટમ બંગાળ ની ખાડી પર હોય, સૌરાષ્ટ્ર/ગુજરાત માટે 2 દિવસ પછી ફરી પરિસ્થિતિ ની અપડેટ થશે,
