Current Weather Conditions on 20th October 2023
Southwest Monsoon has withdrawn from the entire country yesterday the 19th October 2023.
(A) Depression over southwest Arabian Sea:
Yesterday’s Low Pressure Area over Southeast & adjoining southwest Arabian Sea moved nearly westward, became a well marked low pressure area over southwest Arabian Sea in the midnight (2330 hours IST). It concentrated into a depression and lay centered at 0830 hours IST of today, the 20th October over southwest Arabian Sea near latitude 9.3°N and longitude 61.7°E about 920 km east-southeast of Socotra (Yemen), 1190 km southeast of Salalah Airport (Oman) and 1280 km east-southeast of Al Ghaidah (Yemen).
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a cyclonic storm over southwest Arabian Sea during next 24 hours. Continuing to move west-northwestwards, it is likely to intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the evening of 22nd October. Thereafter, it would move north-northwestwards from 24th morning towards south Oman and adjoining Yemen coasts.
(B) Low Pressure Area over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal:
Under the influence of yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over southeast Bay of Bengal a low pressure area has formed over southwest and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal in the morning and lay over the same region at 0830 hours IST of today, the 20th October, 2023. It is likely to intensify further into a depression over westcentral Bay of Bengal around 23rd October.
Forecast: Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch 20th to 27th October 2023
The weather will remain mostly dry with sunshine and times cloudy during the forecast period. The Temperature will be near normal to above normal over most places during the forecast period with a day or two when the Temperature will be below normal. Normal Maximum is 35 C to 36 C currently. Winds mainly from Northwest, North & Northeast direction during the forecast period.
The Depression System is very far from India and is currently tracking away from India so chances of this System affecting Gujarat State is limited. This Depression is expected to strengthen further to a Cyclonic Storm by tomorrow. Regular Updates will be given as and required for any changes in Forecast Track.

આગાહી સમય માં મુખ્યત્વે સૂકું વાતાવરણ. સૂર્ય પ્રકાશ અને ક્યારેક વાદળ. મહત્તમ તાપમાન નોર્મલ અથવા નોર્મલ થી થોડું ઉંચુ. એકાદ દિવસ નોર્મલ થી નીચું તાપમાન. નોર્મલ 35 થી 36 સી ગણાય. પવન મુખ્યત્વે નોર્થવેસ્ટ, નોર્થ અને નોર્થઇસ્ટ ના.
ડિપ્રેસન સિસ્ટમ હાલ ભારત થી દૂર છે અને હજુ વધુ દૂર જાય છે એટલે આ સિસ્ટમ ગુજરાત રાજ્ય ને અસર કરવાની શક્યતા નહિવત છે. 24 કલાક માં આ સિસ્ટમ મજબૂત બની વાવાઝોડા માં પરિવર્તિત થશે. ફોરકાસ્ટ ટ્રેક ની રેગ્યુલર અપડેટ થયા રાખશે.
