Scattered Rainfall Over Saurashtra & Gujarat Persists

Current Weather Conditions on 16th November 2010 @ 4.00 pm.

Scattered unseasonal rain over Saurashtra, Kutch & Gujarat has continued till yesterday the 15th November along with scattered rain over parts of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, & Rajasthan. There has been very heavy moisture incursion due to continued South Westerly winds over Saurashtra & Gujarat at 700 Mb level. The moisture incursion has reached North India, Madhya Pradesh apart from Maharashtra. The Minimum Temperatures are 4 to 6 Degrees above normal over Gujarat.

Forecast:
In the absence of North East dry winds, and due to moisture incursion at 700 Mb.over Saurashtra, Kutch, Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan scattered showers will continue over all these regions till 17th. Rainfall amount and coverage will decrease by 18th November. Winter weather not expected for minimum one week for Saurashtra & Gujarat.

Maharashtra will receive unseasonal rain from the remains of Well Marked Low Pressure currently approaching South India around 20th to 21st November apart from small amounts already occurring at isolated places.

Heavy rain for South India along Tamilnadu and Andhra Coast due to well Marked Low Pressure approaching the East Peninsular Coast from the Bay of Bengal.
