Current Weather Conditions on 11th October 2012 @ 6.30 am.
A succession Low Pressure formed over the Bay of Bengal early morning of 10th October. This Low developed over the Northeast Bay of Bengal from the remnant of the System “GEIME” that crossed over from the Pacific Ocean. Initial location was Lat. 18.9N & Long. 90.8E. Subsequently the Low pressure has strengthened by two notches to a Tropical Depression.
Location at 1800z (11.30 pm.) on 10th October was at Lat. 21.8N & Long. 90.9E. as per JTWC

Sub: Depression over northeast Bay of Bengal.
Latest satellite imagery indicates that a depression has formed over northeast Bay of Bengal and lay centred at 2030 hrs IST of today, the 10th October, 2012 near latitude 21.00N and longitude 91.0.0E, about 350 km southeast of Kolkata (West Bengal), 150 km southeast of Khepupara (Bangladesh) and 150 km south of Hatia (Bangladesh) The system is likely to intensify further, move northwards and cross Bangladesh coast near Hatia by tomorrow the 11th October, 2012 morning .
Under the influence of this system, rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura , Assam and Meghalaya during next 48 hours.

Earlier Low Pressure Over Northwest Bay of Bengal and Coastal Odisha had crossed the Odisha Coast on 9th October and subsequently weakened the same evening.
My observation is that there were two successive Low Pressure Systems and not one as has been observed by IMD in their morning Report of 10th October wherein they say
“The low pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal Odisha
now lies over northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of eastcentral Bay of
Bengal and associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.6 km above mean sea
level”
JTWC had 93B.INVEST which was monitored till 9th Evening. The other system currently being monitored by JTWC is 94B.INVEST.
NRL Satellite Image of 9th October Evening shows the clouding (green blob) remnant of First Low Pressure after crossing over Odisha. The clouding seen near the Myanmar Coast subsequently developed into a Low Pressure on 10th October and then strengthened further into a Depression the same day.
