The Maximum Temperature over most parts of Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch was 1 to 2 C. below normal due to partly cloudy sky during last two days. The Maximum at Rajkot yesterday was 34.2 C. while at Bhuj and Ahmedabad it was 33.3 C. The Minimum at Rajkot was 17.5 C. which is just about normal. The Humidity has decreased considerably over most parts of Gujarat. The winds were from Northerly direction at Rajkot.

Forecast: 13th to 17th march 2014

Saurashtra, Gujarat & Kutch:

The Maximum as well as Minimum temperature is expected to trend sharply upwards during the forecast period. Both maximum and Minimum temperature will increase by 5 to 6 C. over many of the places by 16th-17th March and hence they will be above normal by 3 to 4 C. The Maximum temperature in some places of Saurashtra & Gujarat is expected to reach 38 to 39 C. by the end of forecast period. The winds are expected to be mainly from Northerly direction for the next two days and humidity will remain low.

Rest of India:

The Maximum Temperature is expected to rise as the weather clears over Central and Southern States. The first 40 C. is expected during 15th-17th March most probably in Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas.
