Current Weather Conditions on 19th June 2014 @ 2.30 pm.
There has been no meaningful rainfall over Saurashtra after the initial onset of Monsoon on 15th/16th June. The Arabian Branch of the Southwest Monsoon is currently weak. The rain quantum over Saurashtra has decreased from 18th June onwards as had been mentioned earlier.
The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Madhya Maharashtra, most parts of interior Karnataka and Telangana and remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal,Jharkhand, Bihar, entire Chattisgarh and some parts of Vidarbha, east Madhya Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon (NLM) passes through Lat. 21°N / Long. 60°E, Lat. 21°N / Long. 65° E, Veraval, Surat, Nashik, Bidar, Adilabad, Damoh, Sultanpur and Lat. 28°N / Long. 82°E.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of Southwest Monsoon into remaining parts of north interior Karnataka, Telangana, east Madhya Pradesh and east Uttar Pradesh and some more parts of Vidarbha during next 48 hours.

Under the influence of the Cyclonic Circulation over Northwest Bay of Bengal and neighborhood a Low Pressure area has formed over coastal areas of Bangla Desh and neighborhood. Associated Cyclonic Circulation extends up to 7.6 kms above sea ala level.
The weak Off-shore trough runs from Maharashtra Coast to Kerala Coast but is expected to strengthen in 24 hours.
Forecast: 19th June to 23th June
Saurashtra:
Only scattered showers during the forecast period mainly along the Coastal areas.
South Gujarat:
Scattered showers/light to medium rainfall on few days during the forecast period.
Kutch & North Gujarat:
Isolated showers during the forecast period.

last week recd. good rain for two or three days. but what’s the position of current weather. In the Map no sign of cloud in Arabian sea. wind speed is very high here.my question is what is the reason
that in the sea why not devloping rainy cloud?
There are phases of Monsoon as weak and strong phase, so depending upon the conditions we get rainfall. Also winds would be carrying moisture along with it without precipitating it as rain. This moisture could travel far inland before it rains out.

sir, for last 3-4 days there are strong wind blowing in jamnagar.wind speed could be 60 kmph. What is the reason behind that. Will this wind be an obstacle in monsoon in jamnagar?
Winds are OK since they carry moisture along with it. However, there should be some factor for that moisture to be precipitated. This can happen with a monsoon trough along the west coast or a UAC Northeast of Saurashtra. Many other factors come in to play for good rainfall.

Good Morning Sir ! Its Monsoon time again. This year clouds formation is very slow. But would increase gradually. Arabian sea clouds formed and decline very soon. BOB is on the fast track. and formation of clouds there covering the area with immediate action. SIR, I WISH TO KNOW THAT THE FORECASTERS ARE NOT KNOWING THE ACCURATE THINGS..WHY??
Weather forecast is very tricky subject. Forecast models have forecast runs every 3 to 6 hours and depending on the initial conditions the final outcome changes. Normally IMD does reasonably good job though that information reaches common man may be 24 to 48 hours late.
