An Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal & vicinity. Associated Convective clouds are spread to the West and Southwest of Circulation. Some convective clouds are spread over the Arabian Sea West and Southwest of Kerala Coast.
There has been scattered light rain/showers over parts of Saurashtra during the last two three days. The rain quantum is not as much as the apparent looks of the sky.
Saurashtra and Kutch have the Maximum deficit of rainfall this Season as can be seen from the IMD Map. It is 82 % deficit till 22nd August 2012.
The following IMD map shows the rainfall anomaly till 24th August 2012
Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat have deficit of more than 250 mm. till 24th August 2012 as can be seen by the dark brown color in the third map ( anomaly ) while rest of Gujarat falls in the category of 150 to 250 mm. deficit till 24th August 2012.
Saurashtra & Kutch are facing huge rainfall deficit this year till 24th August 20102.

Scattered showers over Saurashtra with more chance towards Eastern parts of Saurashtra specifically Bhavnagar side.
