Current Weather Conditions on 5th August 5.00 pm.

The Low Pressure that formed yesterday in the Bay of Bengal has strengthened to a Depression BOB 06 this morning and was located this morning at 20 N and 88.5 E about 230 Kms. South East from Balasore, Orissa Coast. The wind speed is about 50 to 60 Kms. per Hour. The Depression is expected to move in a West North Westerly direction and cross the Orissa Coast within 24 hours. Heavy to very heavy rainfalls and isolated extremely heavy rainfalls is expected over Orissa, Chhatisgarh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours.

Monsoon is also active over East Central Arabian Sea and around Gujarat. The weather conditons are favourable over Saurashtra for rain.

Forecast dated 2nd. August for the period 2nd Aug. till 8th Aug. is currently valid. Various parts of Saurashtra has received rains on 3rd, 4th and 5th August. Scattered moderate rains on various days are expected to continue during this period.
