There has been very good rainfall over whole Saurshtra as had been forecast on 3rd September. The details of rainfall data till morning of 5th September will be updated in the evening.
The Low Pressure from the Bay of Bengal has strengthened to a Well Marked Low Pressure and is currently over East Madhya Pradesh and vicinity.
The Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Gujarat region & neighbourhood persists.
The offshore trough runs from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast.
Forecast: 5th to 8th September
The System from Chhatisgarh/M.P. will track mainly West Northwestwards. There is a possibility of the Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra Gujarat region to descend to surface to form a Low Pressure in the same area within 24 hours. As per current estimates both the Systems will merge within 48 hours and will be spread over a broad area of Saurashtra, Gujarat, South Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh. Subsequently the System is expected to track Westwards.
Saurashtra will continue to get rainfall till 7th September and Western parts of Saurashtra till 8th September.
Kutch will also get rainfall from this System.
