There has been scattered round of rainfall over Saurashtra & Gujarat during the last two days. Rajkot has been waiting for some meaningful rainfall since it has received light rain on most days but just few mm. a day.
The Low Pressure area over interior Odisha and adjoining Chhattisgarh has ttracked towards East Madhya Pradesh and vicinity. The associated Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation extends upto Midtropospheric levels and is over Vidarbh M.P. border area.
There is also an Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation over Saurashtra Gujarat & adjoining Arabian Sea.
East West shear zone at 700 Mb. level runs roughly along 20 N.
The axis of monsoon trough passes through Jaisalmer, Chittorgarh, Ujjain, Center of Low Pressure area, Sambalpur, Chandbali and thence Southeastwards to North Andaman Sea.
The offshore trough from Gujarat coast to Kerala coast has strengthened.

COLA Weekly Rainfall Forecast upto 31st July 2013
The above COLA map shows that weekly precipitation over Saurashtra & Gujarat could be uneven. Some places expected to get very heavy rainfall while other places forecast to get medium rainfall.
Forecast: 24th July to 28th July
Last two weeks has witnessed relay of Bay of Bengal Low Pressures developing over Northwest Bay of Bengal and tracking towards Central India along the axis of monsoon. As soon as the Low and the associated UAC reaches Central India vicinity a new Low Pressure develops in the Northwest Bay of Bengal as if there is a relay race ! A new Low Pressure can be expected in the same fashion in two days.
Saurashtra, Gujarat:
A general good round of rainfall is expected during the forecast period. Quantum of rainfall will vary with different areas. Heavy, medium and light rainfall is expected over different areas.
Kutch :
Kutch is also expected to get rainfall during the forecast period.
