Very Severe Cyclonic Storm current location is 18.4N 59.7E about 240 Kms South East of Oman Coast. Winds are 230 to 260 Kms./Hour with Central pressure of about 929 Mb. The Wave height is 8.7 meters. Cyclone PHET has tracked North Westwards towards Oman more than expected. If the System continues in the similar direction for the next 24 to 36 hours, there is highy possibility of Initial Landfall over OMAN. Influence of Western disturbance on this System should also be watched carefully. Various Forecast models are differing on the final track for PHET but currently PHET is getting closer to the Oman Coast every hour.

Currently maximum risk is for Oman however, it is important for all Countries from Oman, Iran, Pakistan & India to be watchful and closely monitor PHET for effects of Winds and rain in their regions.

OMAN:
Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is only 240 Kms. from Oman Coast and due to the proximity of this System, people should be vigilant and take precautions about very windy conditions as well as flash flooding due to heavy rains. Till there is any change in the Cyclone track, there is high possibility of Landfall over OMAN.

Saurashtra & Gujarat:
Even though the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is more than 1100 Kms. from Saurashtra Coast, due to the Intensity of this System, currently expect Windy conditions and Scattered Hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra from Clouds streaks passing over Saurashtra & Gujarat due to PHET with the moisture incursion from Arabian Sea.
