Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Phet Track Changes To Northerly Direction

Current Weather Conditions on 3rd June @ 6.00 pm

Very Severe Cyclonic Storm current location is 20.0N 59.4E within 100 Kms South East of Oman Coast. Winds are 190 Kms./Hour gusting to 230 Kms/Hour with Central pressure of about 944 Mb. The Wave height is 10 meters. Cyclone PHET has changed track to a Northerly towards Oman from the earlier North Westwards direction towards Oman. There could be Initial Landfall over OMAN or a Close encounter to the Oman Coast within 24 Hours due to Northerly track change. Influence of Western disturbance on this System should also be watched carefully, since it will decide the fate of this system. Currently PHET is getting closer to the Oman Coast every hour.

Currently maximum risk is for Oman however, it is important for all Countries from Oman, Iran, Pakistan & India to be watchful and closely monitor PHET for effects of Winds and rain in their regions.

OMAN:
Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is within 100 Kms. from Oman Coast and due to the proximity of this System, people should be vigilant and take precautions about very windy conditions as well as flash flooding due to heavy rains on 3rd, 4th & 5th. Phet has changed to Northerly track from earlier North westwards track. There could be Initial Landfall over OMAN or a Close encounter to the Oman Coast within 24 Hours due to Northerly track change.

Saurashtra & Gujarat:
Even though the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm PHET is about 1200 Kms. from Saurashtra Coast, due to the Intensity of this System, currently expect Windy conditions and Scattered Hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra from the moisture incursion from Arabian Sea.
