Severe Cyclonic Storm "JAL" started weakening from afternoon of 7th November and never regained strength. Prior to landfall North of Chennai the System had weakened to Depression strength. Rainfall over Tamilnadu Coast was much lower than forecast.

This System is expected to track across the Peninsula over North Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra. The remnant of this System will emerge over the Arabian Sea by tomorrow.
