PHET Now Severe Cyclonic Storm – Tracks Towards Oman More Than Expected

Current Weather Conditions on 2nd June 5.30 am

Cyclonic Storm PHET has strengthened further to Severe Cyclonic Storm during the last 6 hours. Current location is 17.5N 61.0E about about 1050 Kms West Southwest from Porbundar. Winds are 165 to 185 Kms./Hour with Central pressure of about 956 Mb. The Wave height is 6 meters. Cyclone PHET has tracked towards Oman more than expected in a North Northwestwards direction. It is expected to strengthen further and track mainly Northerly direction with slight Westwards inclination for the next 24 to 36 hours. Subsequently, under the influence of Western disturbance the system will track North Eastwards after 24 to 36 hours thereby broadly the likely Landfall could be between Karachi to Kutch & Gujarat region. The Cyclone PHET should be closely monitored for any unexpected track change.

Currently expect Scattered Hit & Miss Rain for Saurashtra from the Clouds streaks going towards the Cyclone PHET.
