Super Typhoon MEGI Becomes The Most Intense Storm At Landfall

Super Typhoon MEGI (JUAN) reached intensity of 895 Mb. making MEGI the strongest Typhoon to reach Sub 900 Mb. pressure in the 21st century. It made Landfall at about 0400 UTC today the 18th Ocotber 2010 with intensity of 885 Mb. thereby making MEGI the most intense storm at Landfall ever recorded anywhere in the world, snatching the record from the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane that struck US.

An Upper Air Cyclonic Circulation has formed near Konkan today from the remains of the BOB System. Western Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and South Gujarat will get scattered moderate rainfall from today till 20th.
