Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "SIDR" In The Bay Of Bengal
Status as of 15th November 2007 @ 12.00 pm.
"SIDR" has tracked in the Northerly direction yesterday and its has strengthened further to 135 knots wind speed (250 Kms/hour one minute ave. wind speed and 300 kms/hour gusts)and 922 mb pressure. "SIDR" is located at 19.6 N 89.3 E about 350 Kms. south of Kolkatta. The Cyclone is moving at 20 Kms/hour and is expected to make landfall along the India – Bangala Desh border by tomorrow morning. Cloudy windy weather with heavy rains expected for West Bengal, North East Indian States and Bangala Desh for the next 36 hours.
URGENT ATTENTION: "SIDR" is expected to cause extensive destructions in its path and urgent attention is required from India and Bangla Desh Government to try to avert human losses by wide Media coverage. It is unfortunate that wide Media coverage has not been given by World Media too.
JTWC: Very Severe Tropical Cyclone SIDR in the Bay of Bengal located about 350 Kms south of Kolkatta at 19.6 N & 89.3 E. with 250 Kms/hour one minute ave. wind speed and 300 kms/hour gusts and 922 mb pressure. Currently the Cyclone is moving in a Northwards direction at 20 Kms per hour. The waves are of 40 feets.
