Gujarat Observations:
The Maximum Temperature is 7°C to 8°C above normal over various parts of Gujarat State where there was a Severe Heat Wave.

Maximum Temperature on 11th March is as under:

Surendranagar  42.8°C which is 8°C above normal

Bhuj  42.4°C which is 8°C above normal

Rajkot  42.3°C which is 8°C above normal

Deesa 41.6°C which is 8°C above normal

Amreli 41.6°C which is 7°C above normal

Porbandar 41.0°C which is 8°C above normal

Ahmedabad 41.2°C which is 7°C above normal

Holi Evening wind direction:
On 13th March ‘Holi’ wind direction evening 6 pm. to 9 pm. will be mostly from West and in some places it will be from West North West direction.
The traditional method of monsoon forecasting relies on observing the wind direction on the evening of ‘Holi.’ However, since ‘Holi’ is based on the lunar calendar, its date shifts each year — typically by 10 to 20 days earlier or later. A study of the calendar over the past 125 years shows that the earliest ‘Holi’ occurred on 26th February 1945, while the latest was on 28th March 2021.

To use wind direction as a reliable empirical indicator for monsoon prediction, a fixed date representing the long-term average of past ‘Holi’ dates would be more consistent. This analysis points to 13th March as the average date over the past 125 years.

Therefore, I propose that the traditional wind direction method for monsoon forecasting should be based on observations taken on 13th March rather than on the varying date of ‘Holi.’ Interestingly, this year ‘Holi’ happens to fall on 13th March — aligning perfectly with the historical average. Similar incident of Holi on 13th March was in 1903, 1922, 1960,1979, 1998.

Weather Forecast Saurashtra, Gujarat, & Kutch 12th To 19th March 2025

• • Wind Patterns:

    • From tomorrow Winds will predominantly blow from the West, Northwest from tomorrow for most days of the forecast period.
    • 13th-16th March: Wind speeds are expected to range between 15–25 km/h  with gusts of up to 30 km/h. For the rest of the forecast period the wind speed of 10–15 km/h gusts of up to 20km/h.

    Sky Conditions:

    • The sky will be partly cloudy or have scattered clouds 17th-19th March.

    Fog:

    • There is a possibility of foggy weather for Kutch and limited parts of Western Saurashtra mainly 14th-16th March

    Temperature Trends:

    • Current Normal: Maximum temperatures across most of Gujarat from today is 35°C to 36°C.
    • 12th March: Heat Wave to continue today.
    • 13th–14th March: Maximum temperatures are expected to decrease daily 1 C in the range between 37°C to 41°C.
    • 15th–19th March: Maximum temperatures are expected to decrease further reaching range of 36°C to 39°C. 

હુતાશણી ના પવનો:

હુતાશણી ના પવનો 13 માર્ચ સાંજ ના 6 થી રાત્રી ના 9 સુધી વધુ સેન્ટરો માં પશ્ચિમ તેમજ અમુક સેન્ટરો માં પશ્ચિમ ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ તરફ થી ફૂંકાશે.

પરંપરાગત પદ્ધતિ પ્રમાણે ચોમાસાની આગાહી માટે ‘હોલી’ના દિવસે સાંજના પવનની દિશાનું અવલોકન કરાય છે. પરંતુ, ‘હોલી’ ચંદ્ર કૅલેન્ડર પર આધારિત હોવાથી તેની તારીખ દર વર્ષે 10 થી 20 દિવસ વહેલી કે મોડી આવે છે. છેલ્લા 125 વર્ષોના કૅલેન્ડરનું અધ્યયન કરાયું છે, જેમાં જોવા મળ્યું કે સૌથી વહેલી ‘હોલી’ 26મી ફેબ્રુઆરી 1945એ આવી હતી, જ્યારે સૌથી મોડી ‘હોલી’ 28મી માર્ચ 2021 એ આવી હતી.

જો પવનની દિશાને ચોમાસાની આગાહી માટે એક પ્રાયોગિક માપદંડ તરીકે ઉપયોગ કરવો હોય, તો પાછલી ‘હોલી’ની તારીખોના લાંબા ગાળાના સરેરાશને દર્શાવતી એક નિશ્ચિત તારીખ નક્કી કરવી વધુ વિશ્વસનીય રહેશે. આ વિશ્લેષણ મુજબ, છેલ્લા 125 વર્ષના ડેટાને આધારે 13મી માર્ચ એ સરેરાશ તારીખ બની આવે છે.

તે અનુસંધાને, હું સૂચવું છું કે પરંપરાગત પદ્ધતિમાં ચોમાસાની આગાહી માટે પવનની દિશાનું અવલોકન ‘હોલી’ના દિવસે કરવાને બદલે, 13મી માર્ચના દિવસે કરવું જોઈએ. રસપ્રદ રીતે, આ વર્ષે ‘હોલી’ પણ સંજોગવશાત 13મી માર્ચે જ આવી છે, જે છેલ્લા 125 વર્ષોની સરેરાશ તારીખ સાથે મેળ ખાય છે. આજ સુધી હોલી 13મી માર્ચે આવી હતી તેવા સમાન ઘટનાઓ 1903, 1922, 1960, 1979 અને 1998માં નોંધાયેલી છે.

આગાહી: સૌરાષ્ટ્ર, ગુજરાત અને કચ્છ માટે 12 થી 19 માર્ચ 2025

પવન:
કાલ થી પવન મુખ્યત્વે પશ્ચિમ અને ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ દિશામાંથી ફૂંકાશે, જે આગાહી ના વધું દિવસો માટે ચાલુ રહેશે.

13-16 માર્ચ: પવનની ગતિ 15-25 કિ.મી./કલાક રહેશે અને ઝટકા 30 કિ.મી./કલાક સુધી પહોંચી શકે.
17-19 માર્ચ: પવનની ગતિ 10-15 કિ.મી./કલાક અને ઝટકા 20 કિ.મી./કલાક સુધી પહોંચી શકે.

આકાશની સ્થિતિ:
17મી-19મી માર્ચ: આકાશ છૂટાં વાદળો જોવા મળશે.

ઝાકળ:
14-16 માર્ચ: કચ્છ અને પશ્ચિમ સૌરાષ્ટ્રના સીમિત વિસ્તારોમાં ઝાકળની શક્યતા.

તાપમાનની સ્થિતિ:
આજથી હાલ નોર્મલ મહત્તમ તાપમાન: ગુજરાતના મોટા ભાગમાં મહત્તમ તાપમાન 35°C થી 36°C સુધી ગણાય.
12 માર્ચ આજે હિટ વેવ યથાવત રહેશે.
13-14 માર્ચ: મહત્તમ તાપમાન દરરોજ આશરે 1°C ઘટશે અને 37°C થી 41°C વચ્ચે રહેશે.
15-19 માર્ચ: મહત્તમ તાપમાન વધુ ઘટી 36°C થી 39°Cની રેન્જ માં પહોંચવાની સંભાવના.
